If you have a problem fitting enough fruits and vegetables into your day, consider your problem solved. I really couldn’t figure out what to call this. It’s not really a smoothie, but it’s not juiced, so I thought about calling it a joocie. Then I figured that everyone would just think I was a poor speller and I just can’t have that. I settled on juice. Sometimes settling works.
I think I even surprised myself at how good this is. I didn’t expect it. I really thought, “fingers crossed that it tastes delicious and I don’t have to add honey to make it palatable.” No honey needed, it’s delicious.
5 ingredients: Kale, fresh pineapple, green apple, a small orange, and ice
The prepping is minimal, no peeling of the apple, peel the orange and throw the entire thing in there. No chopping of the kale. The most time is spent on the pineapple. But perhaps you already have one cut up in the fridge.
I love keeping the skins and pulp intact. That’s a lot of fiber right there. There are 3+ servings of fruit/veggies in this little drink and it’s entirely possible that you haven’t had that many servings of fruit/veggies all day. Give this a try for your morning drink or afternoon snack.
I received this gorgeous kale from an event on Thursday. Food is the best gift ever – I love all food. I knew I had to do something absolutely delicious with this kale. Here we are!
- ½ cup fresh chopped pineapple
- 1 cup kale leaves
- ½ green apple
- 1 whole clementine orange
- ½ cup crushed ice
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth - about 45 seconds
