4 Ingredient Artisan Bread

Serves: 1 large artisan loaf
  • 1 Tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups warm water (bathwater temperature)
  • 4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • Corn meal for dusting the board
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add yeast, salt, water and flour
  2. Stir until combined, ensuring the flour is completely incorporated using your hands in necessary
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 2 hours
  4. Sprinkle corn meal on a wooden board and take the dough out of the bowl with floured hands
  5. Shape into a ball and tuck the seams of the dough ball - sprinkle with flour and cover
  6. Let rest for another 30-40 minutes
  7. Place a stone in the oven and preheat the oven to 450°F
  8. Slide the dough ball onto the stone
  9. Make 2-3 criss cross slits on the top
  10. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until the top is golden brown
  11. Remove from oven and let cool before slicing
