No, you are not reading that wrong. I missed a day. Why? Life got in the way. As it does sometimes when I have other plans. I maxed out my 19 hour day yesterday and it still wasn’t enough. I needed more hours. At 11:30 pm, I decided a blog post could wait and I needed sleep.
I know what stress does to a body and I try not to stress about too many things that aren’t within my control. However, when I control it, I stress. And I don’t stop thinking about it until it’s done.
I had a sick kiddo over the weekend and I always seem like I’m overreacting if I want to take them in. Parents have such a hard job with the decisions we make that affect the lives of our little ones. Take them to the doctor or wait. My 8 year old ran a fever all weekend, we alternated between tylenol and motrin to take it down, but it always came back. Then the throat started to hurt. Yep, you know what’s coming.
At about 9 pm last night, I felt like a total failure and knew that I should have taken her to urgent care yesterday, but I was sure that she would be good. Well, she had a rough night and I took her this morning for the antibiotics. We didn’t have a confirmed strep test, but the NP said her throat looked like something fierce. I believe it. I think she’s on the mend.
Luckily, I’m not a stress eater and it didn’t derail my healthy eating goals, it did however, take a day from working out. I really could have used a run today, but it’s okay. I’ll be right back at it tomorrow morning. I did work out yesterday though and discovered the parent/child area at the gym.
Cool right? And next to it are some kid size exercise bikes. I love it and so do my kids – perfect.
I also had the chance to film another video a few days back.
I know, there are no words. That’s all I need in life to eat. Leave me alone on a deserted island with cheese, tomatoes, basil, oil and vinegar and I’ll be good. I do realize how highly improbable that would be. A girl can wish right?
Tomorrow is a new day and hopefully it will bring healthy kids, healthy food and a good solid workout.
