Day 12 already? I’m still going strong. Well, maybe not strong. I barely fit in a run today. I did it though. 20 minutes of running and 20 minutes on the elliptical. I feel that was sufficient for today. Let’s not mention that I just finished sweating for 4 hours at my daughter’s swim meet.
It was a pretty night for a meet, but hot. I guess if I was the one swimming, I would rather it be hot instead of cold. I didn’t do a lick of work tonight, so I can’t complain.
Tonight was an eat on the run night. Swimming dinner was a rotisserie chicken sandwich on WW, yogurt, cherries and popcorn popped on the stove and LOTS of water – absolutely essential.
Our swimming food is always good. Not only is it super important to fuel their little bodies with the best food, but it is a lifelong habit that I want them to pick up. I also want my kids to set the standard for how to fuel for swimming. I see a lot of the kids with chips and candy and it makes me wish they fueled up with fruits, veggies, and good quality protein. I’m sure they do. I see a lot of healthy food too – it’s just the unhealthy stuff that catches my eye.
I’ve always said this. The more you eat unhealthy food, the more you crave it. The same is for healthy food. Eat it and that is what you body needs. I love a good sweet treat, but I don’t need it all the time.
Tip for the Day: Try cutting back on sugar intake for a week – I’ll take a guess that you’ll feel great about yourself and your sugar cravings will go down.
I have to say it’s been pretty hard being accountable. Not really to anyone but myself, but still accountable. I like a good challenge and I love goals. I don’t have a weight loss goal – just to fit into my favorite summertime shorts. If I get there, I’ll be happy and who cares what my weight is.
I have been slacking on weight lifting. It’s been quite a few days since I did it and almost a week since I did pilates. I need to get back on that wagon.
For now, I need a giant glass of water and some shut eye. Tomorrow will be a healthy day – I can feel it.
