Some days just shouldn’t be repeated. Today was one of those days. It was a mix of good and not so good. I hesitate to say bad, because it wasn’t bad, it was just not so good. Today was the day that we had our household goods delivered. This is the term for our worldly belongings. This was my view for most of the day.
I finally found out what a box contained, that was mislabeled “deep fryer”. Well, it wasn’t anything exciting. It was a bread maker. As you might guess, I don’t own a deep fryer, never have.
I haven’t seen any of this stuff in almost two months. What am I happy about? My bed and my washer/dryer. It’s the little things that make me happy. Trust me, take away your washer and dryer for a couple of weeks and you’ll appreciate it more than you know.
So, if I think of it in those terms, it was a great day. Because of this upheaval and spending my morning carting the kids around and then hanging out with these guys (above) while my hubs was hard at work, that didn’t leave a lot of time to workout. Just kidding! I did plenty of box lifting today to count for a weight day. Oh yeah, moving around 50# boxes is exercise.
And if I didn’t have a good enough kick in the pants today with the unpacking, our AC went out tonight. It was getting really hot in our house and we just knew something was wrong. Okay, turn that frown upside down. Within 30 minutes of calling about our AC, we had a guy at our house to fix it. It’s all good. Okay, now I’m satisfied with living on base.
As the day was winding down, I realized that my diet was complete rubbish today. Total honestly here. I ate a quick egg sandwich for breakfast, I ate my daughter’s leftover pizza pockets from her farming camp (they were made with homemade pie crust – yep, that’s a good and bad) for lunch, and then a friend dropped off some frozen fundraiser pizzas and guess what? Yep, I found our pizza pan in the first kitchen box I unpacked and suddenly it was pizza night.
Now, I contemplated just making the day a complete wash, but then I thought twice. I did open the freezer and take a peek at the gelato and then I promptly closed the door. I grabbed these beauties instead:
Not the best picture, but this tired girl was not breaking out the good camera to night to get better lighting. iPhone it is. Cherries for my late night snack. I have a feeling I will be sleeping well.
Tip for the day: Even if you get disappointed in your meal choices during the day, do not just give in to every craving for the remainder of the day. Get back on track at the instant you feel yourself going sideways.
