Being actively engaged in a process puts a lot of perspective on things. I went for a run yesterday morning while my girls were at swim practice. Only 3.5 miles, but it was hot, humid and it gave me time alone.
I always smile when I see the runners and the walkers on the little loop where I run. I smile because we are all running or walking or biking past the same scenery. Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, and Hardees all smell pretty gross in the humid morning air. And we are all proving that health matters more.
I started thinking about reasons. What are their reasons for running or walking? Sometimes I’m nosey and I just want to know. Other times, I feel like I already know. I started thinking about my reasons for running. There is no singular reason. I really do work out for health reasons. My mom died y0ung from cancer and I look around and see friends and family on medications and I do not want that.
I also like to look fit. Granted, I have a little extra fluff these days, but overall, I’m happy. I do it to set a good example of health – there can never be too many reasons and there is never a wrong or a bad reason. Even if the reason is to fit into the jeans you wore from high school (which I applaud anyone who this applies), it’s your reason and it keeps you going.
I played hooky from blogging yesterday (and the day before). I have my priorities and even though I love my blog dearly, sometimes the priorities win. Yesterday, a friend and I met up for last minute pedicures. From a girl who hasn’t had a pedicure in two years – I jumped on that one.
Why yes, that is a picture of my feet. I was super happy to have pretty toes again – yay!
Bring today. I spent my morning hanging curtains and meal planning. I have had a recipe on the back burner that my 8 year old asks me about everyday. She asks because everyday, she looks at the frozen pineapple in the freezer and she asks if today is the day I am going to film my pineapple ice cream.
Today was finally the day.
I realize this is just a tease, but the video will be coming very soon on how to make this. 3 ingredients and I’ll be making it again soon!
