So, you say, “Sarah, where have you been for 5 days?”. I say that I’ve been pretty much everywhere. I haven’t sat still for very long in the past 5 days. In the last 5 days, we had 2 nights with friends, a swimming Conference championship, picking veggies and fruit, making a lot of jam, a swimming banquet, more pool time, shopping, school registration, filming 3 videos for Hungry & Healthy, editing one, writing for LIVESTRONG, and I did manage to fit in some workouts and eating.
I have been extremely busy, but I have not forgotten my goal and that is to slim down a little. I have been able to find a few things that are starting to fit a little nicer.
This dress is so old that it actually has holes in the bottom. So, that’s why I thought it would be appropriate to go picking peaches and veggies. It was so hot though, so maybe not a smart choice after all. Of course, I got stuck with both baskets, that little guy behind me was more interested in eating the bounty. Which reminds me, if you ever want to get a 5 year old to eat raw kale, take them out to a field to pick it. Funny, I couldn’t get him to eat it like that when we got home.
Don’t let your mouth water too much with these. Even though they look good enough to eat, they were still not ready, so fast forward 3 days and you have this…
Heaven right there, folks. Homemade jam is sometime of beauty. I don’t use pectin, so it’s a little thinner and not as “jelly like”, but my oh my, it is crazy good.
I took the early morning wake up yesterday and went for a run. Lucky for me, my 8 year old sprang out of bed when she heard me get up that she joined me on her bike. I’m not sure it will happen again. I guess she didn’t realize how humid it is already at 0630.
I think I may head out again tomorrow morning – I’m ready.
Eat right tonight!
