This is my “what was I thinking” face. This is 3pm in the afternoon after i just returned from a 3 mile run. Let me tell you, it was H.O.T. About 10 minutes into my run, I seriously contemplated turning around and cutting my losses on the last mile.
Let’s just say that running in the worst heat of the day was not in my plan today. I planned to run an errand after swim practice this morning and head straight to the gym.
The violent thunder and lightning interrupted those plans as me and my children got caught in the torrential downpour and we were soaked. Of course, since we headed home instead of to the gym, all plans were derailed.
I was still productive and so were the kiddos. I just love this – at least they can be creative sometimes.
I found out shortly after taking this that they were playing mom at her desk and writing. I wasn’t sure if I was proud or if I should be concerned. I don’t think I spend too much time writing around them.
I finally fit in my run when my husband got home. There was a small window to get a workout in, get home, pack their dinner for the swim meet tonight and get them out the door.
Tip for the day: If the plan changes, change with it. Don’t ever completely ditch your workout or healthy eating plans because something comes up. Adapt and overcome!
Since it was just my little one and me for dinner, we made it special and finally tried out our homemade dole whip. This is a Disney thing. It’s soft serve pineapple ice cream – sort of.
For ours, we used just pineapple and coconut milk. It wasn’t very sweet, so I may refine it a little before posting, but it was enjoyed, I can tell you that.
And I don’t feel the least bit guilty.
