Sometimes breakfast can get a little boring. I’ll admit, I am a creature of habit and I’ve been having the same breakfast for YEARS, but I do enjoy switching it up every once in a while.
It’s fun to take it back to traditional breakfast foods and put a twist on it. Tons of people eat yogurt and fruit for breakfast, but rarely do they think about how it could be improving their health.
This breakfast bowl will get you going and keep you full until your morning snack, if you even need one. I always need one, so I just assume that other busy women are just like me.
Yogurt: Choose a high protein yogurt, such as Greek or Skyr. Choose a flavor you like and look for one that has 8g or less of sugar per serving. Some recent studies have shown that eating protein at breakfast may help regulate weight.
Strawberries: The vitamin C in strawberries is going to wake you up and give you a shot of natural sugar to sweeten up your bowl.
Chia Seeds: These little seeds are going to start your daily intake of fiber to keep you regular and omega-3 fatty acids to help calm any inflammation that is going to creep up on you.
Pecans: We should all be eating a small serving of nuts throughout the day. Don’t have pecans? Try walnuts or almonds – both nutritious and both delicious!
Coconut: We need a little fat for breakfast and flaked coconut will give you just a little fat for satiety and some crunch.
